Among the older generation of XCMG workers, there is a figure that must be mentioned that is Zhang Jiazhong. Born in a family of blacksmiths, he became interested in forging from an early age, which also laid the foundation for his future career as a blacksmith.
In the 1950s, with his outstanding skills, Zhang Jiazhong joined XCMG as the team leader of the forging team. In the face of heavy production tasks, Zhang Jiazhong did not flinch. He led the forging team to boldly innovate production tools, continuously created and improved 33 tools and operating methods, designed and manufactured eight sets of forging dies, and increased efficiency by 15 times. With the blessing of these advances, the factory produced 113,000 double plows, overfulfilling the task half a year ahead of schedule.
Although the output target has been reached, in order to improve the forging quality, Zhang Jiazhong makes his own forging die with the reverse printing method and the cutting die with the block method, which further solves the key problems in production. He is known as the "King of innovation" and has gained great popularity in the nation. Zhang spent most of his 42 years at XCMG as a forger. When confronted with various challenges, he rushed to the front line and set an example of innovation for the later XCMG workers.
