Urubici, a city located in the state of Santa Catarina in southern Brazil, has always been known for its impressive landscapes and cold climate. Now, this charming city has gained a new attraction - the Glass Lookout - which is located in Parque Mundo Novo, above the majestic Avencal Waterfall.
The name "Avencal" is derived from the avenca plant, a fern common to this region. The river that gives rise to the waterfall is called Rio do Funil which means [funnel river", alluding to the imposing semicircular wall that gave birth to this natural wonder. Standing 101.4 meters tall, the Avencal Waterfall is a popular tourist attraction.
The Glass Lookout is built above the canyon where the waterfall is located. A little over 7 meters in length and about 110 meters high, the Glass Lookout experience is simply incredible. Visitors walking along the suspended walkway have the unique sensation of floating over the vastness of the canyon while enjoying the stunning beauty of the waterfall and the surrounding scenery.
Assembly of this impressive structure began in June 2023 by the company Guinchos e Guindastes Schmitt. SANY`s STC900T Truck Crane participated in the challenging assembly work. With a high-strength steel structure and a maximum capacity of 90 tons, the SANY crane was a key component to the safe lifting and securing of the suspended walkway.
